Ladies Of
Virtue
is a
ministry to
encourage and
equip women in
their godly
vocation of
womanhood.  We
gladly revel in our
distinct femininity
as defined in
scripture,  a calling
that is often
contrary to our
current culture.
Our desire is to
promote the truth
that we each are
designed for
God's glory
having influence
on those around
us and for all
eternity.  With
thankful hearts,
this calling is met
with an attitude
of living Life with
purpose and
passion.

             Home Management Tips

"The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied."
                              ~Proverbs 13:4

Tip #9-  Plan out your family's menus

For use in the application of the above scripture let us paraphrase the
verse to read..."The belly of the sluggard craves (as does her family) and
they get nothing to eat, while the belly of one who is diligent in planning
and preparing  meals get fat."

Do you plan out your meals with thought?  Or do you wait until 5
o'clock, take a glance into your cupboards and refrigerator and ponder,
"What can I put together to make a 'decent' meal for my family tonight?"?

Try menu planning a week at a time (even a month if you know your
family's schedule and really want to be prepared).  Every Saturday or
Sunday I gather my scheduled calendar, a few cook books or magazines,
and my Menu Planner and chart out what we will be eating (and me
cooking) for the following week.  Sometimes I choose meals based on
what is on sale at the local grocer's (oh, also gather the sale flyers from the
Sunday newspaper) or I choose by what I have stocked in my freezer and
cupboards.  Always, I have to take into consideration my family's
schedule.  If we are to be gone during the day then the crockpot is put to
use.  If my daughter needs to take her supper with her to dance class then
I usually make soup.  Friday is always "order out".  And Sundays we either
eat out after church or I cook Saturday to have company over.

I love being able to just look at my planner and not have to sigh and
think,  "Now WHAT are we going to have for supper?"  If you have not
done so try meal planning.  Your diligence will not go unrewarded!

Blessings, Mrs. Epple
